Amy grew up in Essex Junction, Vt which instilled in her a love for the mountains and the beauty around her. She learned to draw and paint, but it wasn't until college that she discovered graphic design. What started as a hobby gained new focus and became a career. One of her greatest passions is helping people to establish a message and communicate it visually as well as verbally.
Though an introvert at the core, Amy loves to be with people. She loves her family, ministering to others and experiencing life with people. She also enjoys fresh mountain air, a good long run, learning new things and coding websites. But above all, Amy desires to know and follow Jesus.
John is a south of Boston native who has lived and worked in Easton for the last 20 years. He passed up a great potential basketball career to pursue a business career following his life-long dream of being in real estate.
Before graduating from Bridgewater State College with a degree in business, John owned and operated: a snow shoveling company (age 13-14), a landscaping company (age 16-18) and a precious metals recycling company (age 17-20). He opened Easton Real Estate in 1998.
John exudes joy and is a tenatiously hard worker. He loves a little healthy competition, his family, laughter and above all—knowing and following Jesus.
We met at a Grace chapel retreat in 2010. John, in his not-so-quiet-way managed to get Amy's attention by stepping in front of her in line to breakfast. I guess a growing boy needs his food. A week later he asked her out on a date. A failed attempt at a Celtics game led to dinner and a walk and some wonderful conversation. A second date followed a few days later to the Celtics playoff game.
After various dates, half marathons, serving together and working alongside each other, our immediate attraction blossomed into mutual respect and affection. Over the three and a half years of dating, we learned so much—about each other, about ourselves and about trusting God above all else.
On July 28, 2013 John took Amy up to the top of Mount Welch and asked her to be his wife. We are so thankful that God has brought us together to love and support one another and to point each other to His unfailing love. We hope that in all that we do we will bring honor to Him.
Thank you to all the people who have loved and helped us along this journey together. Prayer, God's word and wise counsel are three of our most valued gifts as we continue to grow in love for God and one another.
We will be saying our vows at a Grace Chapel at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend this joyous occasion.
